special detail #2

I’ve been horribly sick for the past week and have been out of the studio getting some rest. I’m slowing coming back!
Here’s another special detail from E+Ms invite. We blind embossed the return envelope liners, the most special liners ever!

vote!
I just entered the minted holiday card challenge! There will be two rounds of voting, if you like what you see please vote for me (click on the image above or below)!! These two cards are my favorites.
typographic wax

We just completed a beautiful custom invitation for the lovely E+M. Before I take the beauty shots of the entire invite I’d like to share one of my favorite details. We created a monogram to tie the invite together and this custom wax seal; sealed the inner envelope. It was fun to use once we got used to the wax and temperature, I just want to stamp everything!

totes for the modern gardener

I helped my friend Angie set up for her debut first Thursday event. She screened and stitched awesome totebags; perfect for all those local farmer’s market trips in PDX.

I especially love her typography. Each side of the bag is screen printed with different herbs or vegetables; a modern take on the garden, I love it! Check her out this Thursday at the studio of Morgan Pasinski: 412 NW Couch, Suite 402 or you can contact me for more info.

baby announcements

Precious is collaborating with Linnea Osterberg Photography on a new line of baby announcements. Stay tuned for more details!

crayons you can eat

Edible crayons from Luxirare, it’s kind of amazing that no one has done this by now. I love that their list of ingredients ranges from dried vegetables to fruity pebbles cereal. You can read and see more about their process here.
alder is almost open!

We’ve been working on branding the shop Alder and Co. and they are almost open! Here’s a sneak peek! For more information and pics of Alder and Co. check out their blog. They should be opening any day this week.

If you are a paper lover you will go crazy about the paper products from Japan. I was so excited just shooting everything: waxed bags, japanese tape, industrial tags, sweet journals and wrapping paper; lots of unique hard to find items!!

We hand embossed a few tags and stamped shopping bags, maybe you’ll bring one home one day!
birthday banner
Last week we posted about a lovely party we did the invitations and banner for, and I wanted to share about the banner making process. For the party, they wanted a happy birthday banner that would match the look and feel of the textiles being used and also something versatile that could be used in years to come.

I tested many different paints, then washed them all to see how they would hold up. The fabric paints ended up fading too much. In the end, I used fluid acrylics with a textile medium which gave it a nice watercolor look.

Because the banner was already made by our friend Marcella, I couldn’t risk messing it up. I scanned the hand lettering and blew it up to make a stencil.

The banner was really huge! I’m kind of more of a no-stencil type of gal, but because of the size, the stencil really helped. For smaller pieces I think it would look nice to just paint it right on.

The finished product!
